Mind meld

December 24, 2014

I promise I’ll be back to blogging soon. What can I say? It’s the holidays. I’ve been swamped. For now, another bit of shameless self-promotion: I participated in a Mind Meld at sfsignal.com!

For those who don’t know, SF Signal is a multiple-Hugo award winning fanzine & fancast site about sci-fi, fantasy, and other genre fiction. I was asked to participate in one of their mind melds, where they take a bunch of people from the sci-fi & fantasy scene (authors featuring largely) and ask them a question. This time, the question was:

Q: What was your favorite live action or animated genre television show of 2014? What made it so enjoyable?

I know you’ll be surprised, but my picks? All anime. (Though I wasn’t the only one that went the anime route.) Here’s how I started:

There were plenty of great sci-fi and fantasy shows on TV this year, but I’m not going to talk about them. Not the live action ones, at any rate. When I’m not writing books, I moonlight as an anime blogger at Random Curiosity, and that makes me uniquely qualified to guide you through the wild world of Japanese animation. I’m going to tell you about three anime series I loved: the popular one, the smart one, and my favorite of the year.

As always, thank you for using my Amazon Affiliate link (info).
