I try to maintain the exact same routine every day. Get enough sleep, eat breakfast, exercise, take a shower, make some tea, and then write. That’s not always possible due to my pesky 9-5, but I have a routine for those days as well.

I try to do the same things every single day, so I don’t have to spend time thinking about my routine. That means I get to spend more time thinking about my art.

Embrace routine. Make your life into a system that requires little effort on your part to propel forward, so you can save your energy for the things that truly matter, and the ones you truly enjoy.
